Traditional handicrafts reflect a nation’s cultural background and thus its history in a way and with the development of technology and machinery they have disappeared. New generations know almost nothing about them and they, by this way, get away from their culture.

This Leonardo da Vinci Learning Partnership project “Traditional Handicrafts in Different Cultures” will contribute to preserve and share the knowledge on traditional handicrafts in the participating partner countries Austria, Spain and Turkey.

The partner institutions/organisations will support this by

• gathering information about various handicraft, reflecting the culture in different partner countries.
• having a strong collaboration between partner institution and learn from each other.
• sharing experiences
• introducing traditional handicrafts to new generations to be aware of the importance of it on a nation’s culture and history
• supporting to keep cultural heritage in each country by keeping handicraft alive.
• to some extent contributing to employment opportunities  especially among disadvantaged/unemployed women in the participating countries
